How'd you feel about the O's these days?
Before the Olympic Stadium/Hearn saga, relations between us and Leyton Orient, both club and fans seemed to be fine. Since then, they're perceived as Mini Spurs; a support base that in places supported Barry Hearn's crusade to stop us becomes tenants of the London Stadium by hook and by crook, because it could put them out of business, while at the same time supporting the Yid bid.

I've always had affection for Orient, same with Dagenham as if they're family, the div cousin, but their support of the Spurs bid did taint my feelings for them at the time.

Water under the bridge for me. I had a browse at one of their forums and they seem to like us. A few blokes online might not be a great representation of the lager support, but I've never met an O's fan who had any bad feeling towards West Ham.

They'll be alright now because their mini Spurs fanbase will have fucked off now, like they do when the Spurs season limps out.

Still don't give a fuck about them but respect those who literally do financially support their club.

Absolutely delighted they got relegated to the National League. Bit gutted they look like coming back up.

Was hoping they'd be relegated out of existance.

I dont like Leyton Orient.

Will always have a soft spot for them, Used to go there a lot with my Dad & Grandad and saw them win promotion to the first division back in 62

Re: How'd you feel about the O's these days?
The 12 history books written on the club by its historian Neilson N. Kaufman between 1974 and 2015 suggest that the choice of the name Orient came about at the behest of a player, Jack R Dearing, who was an employee of the Orient Shipping Company, later part of P&O – Peninsular & Oriental. The club's name was changed again to Clapton Orient in 1898 to represent the area of London in which they played, though there was another team called Clapton F.C.

Having a soft spot for them is an old school thing as in what The Stoat said.
My first ever away game with my mates was 4th round FA cup 1964 1-1 30k plus crowd won the replay 3-0 I loved football then.

I've never had a problem with the Orient and hope they win the conference this year.

I just don't like Barry Hearn - he is a difficult person to like and it's typical of somebody like him to put it down to envy of his business acumen

I don't care about his money...I just don't like his whining, nasal tones and that stupid permanent rictus grin on his fizzog

In fairness to Hearn, he just did what he should have done by the club and their fans.

Yes he has an omnigrin, but I find him hard to dislike on an individual basis.

Re: How'd you feel about the O's these days?
Hearn is an accountant, an obsessive accountant - something of his personality

He saw a pound in fishing so sponsored Fishomania and Keith Arthur, angling personality

Invited KA to his estate, to fish his lake, every fish caught was tagged with a number, he insisted that they were all weighed, irrespective of size, in order for him to cross reference them against their purchase weight

Now we are not talking big fish here, but 2 to 8lb carp - bloke is a loop

Re: How'd you feel about the O's these days?
Brisbane Road was the first proper ground I went to - a mate of my Dad's was in some amateur cup final held there.

Very slight soft spot for Orient as a result.

Barry Hearn did his best to undermine that

Re: How'd you feel about the O's these days?
I would guess that a lot of their fans would feel that if Hearn had put in as much effort investing in the club as he did trying to stop us getting the Hotpoint they wouldn't be languishing in non-league football right now.

Re: How'd you feel about the O's these days?
A lot of O's fans I know cannot stand Barry Hearne.

He sold them up the river, to people who couldn't run a bath which has ended up them in the conference.
